VAT

VAT on a quote

The standard rate of 8.1% from 1 January 2024, what a UID line looks like, and the figures this site already prints.

The German cost pages state that trade services take the standard VAT rate of 8.1% from 1 January 2024. The page they cite is the Confederation’s SME portal, kmu.admin.ch on VAT. Association price sheets are often before VAT. Read the VAT line on the quote you actually receive.

A VAT number on a quote is a UID in the form CHE-xxx.xxx.xxx MWST. The same German page says a business under CHF 100,000 turnover can be outside the tax. If the quote has no UID and no VAT line, ask which of those two cases it is. Do not invent the UID yourself.

Figures already printed for these cities

  • New roof covering: CHF 80–180 per m², often CHF 200–380 with insulation above the rafters, cost note of 21 September 2026. Scaffold and disposal usually extra.
  • Plumbing and electrical hourly range on the German lists: often CHF 85–150.
  • suissetec selling wage for heating, ventilation, plumbing and sheet metal in its 2026 calculation: CHF 114.88 per hour before VAT.
  • Interior paint in the calculator notes: often CHF 10–28 per m².
  • Bathroom renovation on the German building lists: an orientation of CHF 2,000–4,000 per m², not a quote.

None of those lines is a price this website can hold a business to. Ask the quote to say whether VAT, scaffold, disposal and the trip are inside the figure.
