A directory, not a broker

Handwerker Schweiz is a directory for people who need a tradesperson. The English pages list the same businesses as the German pages for eight trades in Zürich, Basel, Bern, Genève and Lausanne. You open the card, you call, you write. This site does not take a description of the job and does not forward one.

What you can open in English

• A home page with the five cities.
• A city-and-trade list, for example roofers in Zürich.
• Guides for the words, the message, the rental rules and the registers.
• Privacy and the impressum.

The longer business card stays in German. Calculators, cost articles and the other 14 cities stay on the German, French and Italian pages. Liechtenstein stays on the German pages.

Where the names come from

The names come from publicly available company and association information and from editorial checks, the same source the German about page describes. A phone number is printed only when that source already has one. A public credential is printed only when it is already on the German entry, and it is glossed in English beside the original word. An empty field stays empty.

Looking a name up in the federal commercial-register index, Zefix, is your own check. This site does not award a badge, and it does not describe the language used on the phone.

If your business is listed

There is no paid place at the top of a list. Write to support@handwerkschweiz.com with the name as printed, the city, the trade and the address on the card. A confirmed deletion is handled within 48 hours. A correction of a phone number appears with the next publication after that confirmation. Changing this website does not change the commercial register or an association directory.

The site is published under the name Handwerker Schweiz. That name is not a company entered in the Swiss commercial register or in Liechtenstein. The impressum has the rest. There is no postal address and no UID on these pages.
