Data on this site, and your rights

Who runs the site

This website is published under the name Handwerker Schweiz, at handwerkschweiz.com. That is the name of the site, not a company entered in the Swiss commercial register or in Liechtenstein. No UID, tax number or postal address is published. Questions about a card, and questions about a visit record, go to support@handwerkschweiz.com. The operator is named in the impressum.

Business entries

An entry is built from published business details: name, trade, city, phone, address, and, when the German record already has them, a website, an email, hours, a price note and a public credential. Swiss details come from public company and association sources and from editorial checks. The English lists copy those fields. They do not add a translation of a business biography, because those pages are not part of this entrance.

The entries are not a customer file. They do not contain your name, your home as a private address you typed in, a description of your job, a payment card, or a photo of your house. There are no reviews and no stars.

Reading the site

The English lists and guides open without a name, an email or a password. There is no account. Contact details are there so you can call, write, or open the business’s own website yourself. These pages do not ask you to describe the job for us to forward.

Calculators

Five calculators run on the German, French and Italian pages, in the browser: roof area, heating power, heat pump, renovation budget and hourly rate. Numbers you type stay on that page. They are not uploaded, not attached to a card, and not emailed to a business. The English entrance does not repeat those tools.

How visits are counted

The site counts how the directory is used, so the pages people open can be improved. A visit record can include the page, the previous site if the browser sends it, the type of device and browser, the wording of a link that was used, the full IP address of the connection, and the town derived from it. The IP address is stored in full. It is not shortened and not masked.

The count does not set a statistics cookie. A raw visit record is kept for at most 25 months and then deleted. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which also provides the network the pages travel over. Delivery logs that keep the site running stay with that host. They are separate from the visit record above, they are not a directory of homeowners, and they are not joined to the business cards.

Stop new visit records from this browser with the button. The choice applies in this browser from the next page you open.

Calls, email, and other websites

A phone link, an email link and a link to a business’s website leave the conversation in your hands. This site is not in the middle of the call and does not receive the email you send the business. A cantonal portal linked from a guide is that authority’s site.

Email you send us

The address for a card is support@handwerkschweiz.com. If you write, the message is used to find the card, check that the request matches it, make the change and reply. Name the business as printed, the city, the trade, the address on the card if you have it, whether you are the business, and what should change or that the card should go.

Deletion and correction

A confirmed deletion is handled within 48 hours, including a new publication when the pages have to go out before the next regular update. A correction appears with the next publication after that confirmation. Removing a card here does not remove the business from the commercial register or from an association list. The same address and the same 48 hours apply to Swiss cards and to Liechtenstein cards on the German pages.

When a card also names a person

A card for a sole trader can name a living person together with a mobile number or a home address used as the business address. The same email is how that person asks for a change. A visit record is not written onto the card.

A disagreement about the work

The card is a contact. It is not a place where a customer’s report of a job is published. A dispute about the work, a deposit or an invoice sits with the business and, where a third party is needed, with the authority or a court.

How long information stays

A card stays until it is corrected or removed. A raw visit record stays at most 25 months. An email about a card stays long enough to confirm the request, make the change and reply, and a short time after that so a follow-up can be matched. It is not copied onto the public page.

Your information and a complaint

You can ask what this site holds about you and you can ask for it to be deleted. For a business card that is the public entry and any email you sent about it. Write to the support address with the page and the approximate time. In Switzerland the supervisory authority is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner, edoeb.admin.ch. In Liechtenstein it is the Datenschutzstelle. A representative under article 27 of the GDPR is not named; the impressum says so.

Children

The directory is written for adults arranging work on a building. It does not ask for a date of birth. If a child’s details are on a card by mistake, write to the support address. That request is handled on the same 48-hour rule as any other confirmed deletion.
