Roofers
How to contact a roofer
German and French words for a leak, a message you can forward, and what the published roof range does not include.
A card on the English lists is a phone number and an address, copied from the German page. It does not mean the business answers in English.
Words
- Dach / toit — roof
- Flachdach / toit plat — flat roof
- Ziegel / tuiles — tiles
- Rinne, Dachrinne / chéneau, gouttière — gutter
- Spengler / ferblantier — sheet-metal worker
- Gerüst / échafaudage — scaffold
- Undicht, Leck / fuite — leak
- Unterdach / sous-toiture — underlay
Call the number on the card. From a Swiss phone, dial it as printed. From abroad, use +41 and drop the leading 0. Say your name, the street, and whether water is coming in now. Then send the message so the noun is right.
Message you can send
Send the German text in Zürich, Basel and Bern. Send the French text in Genève and Lausanne. The English line is only so you know what you sent. It is not a claim that a reply will come back in English.
German
Guten Tag.
You are reporting a leak at a full address, saying whether water comes in all the time or only in rain, and asking for a call back. You are not asking for a fixed price.
What the range leaves out
The German cost note dated 21 September 2026 prints a new covering at CHF 80–180 per m², and often CHF 200–380 per m² with insulation above the rafters. Scaffold, disposal and VAT are usually extra. Zürich, Basel, Bern, Geneva and Vaud do not publish their own price per square metre on the pages this list follows. A street photo does not replace someone standing on the roof.
Who pays, and how you check the name
In a rental, the landlord keeps the building fit for the agreed use (Swiss Code of Obligations, article 256). A leak in the covering is normally that duty, unless the lease and the cause say otherwise. Read who pays in a rental. Check the company name in Zefix before you pay a deposit. Membership of a trade body is not a check this website has done.
